Quang Minh Organic Waste Management System

On Sunday 15/11/2009, Quang Minh organic waste management system was officially launched by the Honorable Marsha Thompson MP and Venerable Thich Phuoc Tan OAM at our Temple.  This project was made possible with the grant of $96,000 funded by Department of Sustainability and Environment through the Vision for Werribee Plains program.  The financial contribution from DSE paid for the constructing this system and educating the Quang Minh community about how rubbish and water can be better use.

The project will allow QMT to teach a practical sustainability in a Buddhist context and turns approximately 4000 litres of green waste every week into an ongoing source of fertiliser. This would help the garden and show the community how sustainability is not just about saving resources but transforming resources into gold.  A&A Worm Farm Waste Systems Pty Ltd was commissioned to designed and installed this system.
