About the Project

Quang Minh Temple is currently undergoing major re-development. The Temple has provided for the spiritual needs of the congregation as well as a variety of community services for the wider community for nearly 20 years. These services have been delivered form inadequate temporary buildings for many years.

The re-development of the site will allow for a new Temple which will include a Community Services Centre, having a separate entrance and a new reception and administration area. It will provide a much improved office environment from which to deliver services.

A notable feature within the Centre will be a community kitchen, which has attracted Regional Partnerships programme funding. The new kitchen will meet commercial standards to allow for training courses to be held at the Centre, as well as food preparation for the elderly in their community.

Community Benefit
The community kitchen will provide strong benefits to the community such as: nutritious meals for the aged and disadvantaged, practical opportunities for skills development, greater access to community support services, and a cultural and activity centre.

The project is well supported by the local community and key organisations across the western region that will make use of the multifunctional centre. Income generated through rental of meeting rooms and the operation of the kitchen will insure the long term sustainability of this valuable asset.
