Westkon Precast completed 95% of its job after the installation of the upper floor loft last Wednesday. It is now ready to hand the site over to Butler Engineer, the next contractor, to install the roof trust. What is left for Westkon to do is patching some of the holes on the wall and caulking the gaps between the 2 panels. This task should be completed within the next 3 to 4 weeks.
The Westkon Precast contract is the largest single contract Quang Minh Temple has ever committed to for this construction project. It includes all concrete work which costs up to $2.58 million. Roofing is the next large package, which will cost around $1.5 million, and will include the installation of the roof trust, lining, insulation, guttering and roof tiling. 32,000 roof tiles have been delivered to the Temple from Quang Dong, China. Roof ornaments are coming in the next few months. Roof tiling will take place around early November and is due to finish before the end of year break. Servicing involves a different group of contractors: Prime Electrical, D&E Air, Sunshine Plumbing, Spitfire Hydrant, TriTech Data and Communication. These contractors have all have started, except for the Fire Hydrant whose contract has just been finalised. All services foot a bill of $1.8 million. Although the Construction Committee makes sure all jobs by contractors are coming smoothly and will be finished on time, we continually rely on your financial and labour support to achieved the next phase, which is the most critical last phase of the whole construction project. So please be with us to the end to ensure this building brings real beneficial services to the community, especially to the next generation to come.
