As Melbourne has got colder this week and I had a lunch meeting with a friend this weekend, I suggested to get pho for our lunch. As she cannot eat non-Halal meat, she told me to go to Bo De Trai instead, one of Vietnamese restaurants located at Hopkins St, Footscray. This is a vegetarian restaurant that serves both pho and mock meat.
But when I got there and read the menu, I ignored the pho menu and was tempted to try Bun Bin, a pork shredded rice vermicilli. By the time I ordered it, they offered me to get a mix dish between Bun Bin and Bo Cha Gio which was basically just adding spring rolls to Bun Bin. And of course, I took it because it seemed more interesting as I got a chance to taste two dishes instead of one. While my friend got Bun Rieu, a rice vermicilli with tomato soup, for her lunch.
And the verdict? I really love Bun Bin+Cha Gio so much! It was fresh, sweet, tasty, and delicious! I am glad that the waitress offered me to get that in the first place and she was also very happy to show us how to eat these dishes as we were not really familiar with these food. With only AUD 7.50, I’d be more than happy to go back there again!
